Sort of.
Good Friday morning, Buckeye faithful, and welcome to your Friday Victory Bell. For those of you who go looking for the Monday version after the weekend, best of luck to you…
Our readers have spoken and The Empire is in a listening mood. The reaction and feedback to our daily schedule of content, while positively surprising in volume over the first three weeks of our existence, has quickly told us that you’re in the mood for more features, Q&A’s and commentary on all things Ohio State related rather than a quick hitting news recap about things you’ve likely already heard. To that end, we’re going to upgrade our daily 6am time slot from the current Victory Bell format to more reader-friendly content, asking our writers to put in the work necessary to provide a full-topic feature post each morning.
We don’t plan for this new approach to reduce our current content in any way, shape or form. Our promise to you is to have new material published each and every weekday at 6am and 9am, as we have since opening up shop last month, and most days you’ll see a third new post come your way at noon. Our current team of writers is dedicated to providing The Best Damn Fans in the Land exactly what you’re looking for – so we evolve.
Your turn to ring the damn bell…
So whatcha, whatcha, whatcha want?
Three weeks and sixty posts later we’ve been able to touch on many, many topics around The Empire, stretching from Urban Meyer and his current batch of student-athletes to a few Q&A’s with some of his future Buckeyes, as well as dipping back into yesteryear to discuss names such as Troy Smith and Jim Tressel. We’ve touched on hoops, watched Jared Sullinger punch his ticket to the NBA and even gave Jerry Sandusky (hock, spit) a piece of our mind. Hell, we’ve even gone so far as to add the most important player on one of Coach Tress’ teams, Jon Thoma.
We have a few plans up our sleeves moving forward, but who better to schedule our additional content around than the dedicated readers themselves, so we ask….what piques your interest? What do YOU want to read about? Is there a specific Ohio State personality, statistical analysis or future Buckeye you want to hear about…or from? Do you have a ‘Weekly Feature’ in mind that you’d like to see us build here at The Empire? We’re all for it, just say the word. Feel free to use the comment section below, this Contact Form or hit any of us up on Twitter and let your voice be heard. We’re all ears, pens and paper around here.

Who in the hell doesn’t want a free shirt?
Many of you have gone on and shopped through our Empire Threads and picked up somethin’ nice for Cousin Eddie. We’ve continued to add options to the store, and have plans to add more as ideas present themselves, but we literally have full control over designs, colors, etc.
We’ve added one professing our desire for Mr. Stoneburner, another with future Buckeye Ezekiel Elliott in mind and, just this weekend, the new Roby-One Kenobi – Shutdown Jedi shirt. We should have our new O’Sully’s Irish Pub shirt out in a week or so for our friends up in Boston.
Do you have an idea for a new shirt design that Buckeye Nation might just fall in love with? If so, let us know what it is. If we choose it, design it and offer it we’ll go ahead and send you the very first one off the presses for FREE. Who in the hell doesn’t want a free shirt?
NERRRRRRRRDS!
We’ve got Joe Dexter on the violin, and Chris and Grant will be joinin’ in. We’ve got Jon Thoma on a mean guitar, and a rap by little ol’ Ryan Lephart. We’ve got Andrew Huber beating on his gong and the boys from the Dark Side are clappin’ along.
If your name isn’t Booger, Louis, Gilbert, Lamar, Takashi or Poindexter (no offense, Joe), and you have a passion for The Ohio State Buckeyes - and the desire/ability to write - we want you on our team.
We’re on the hunt for two more capable writers to fill out our initial Empire staff. Are you an ambulance-chasing lover of all things recruiting? We’d love to hear from you. Do you simply have a passion for writing and wish to display your Pulitzer-like skills for Buckeye Nation? We would love to hear from you too.
Interested parties should get in touch with us through the Contact Us page or at TheEmpire@BuckeyeEmpire.com.
Final Thought
Although Wednesday holidays aren’t ideal, nothing sucks about living in an independent country.
