Ohio State reportedly offers 2014 Dual-threat Quarterback

On July 14, 2012 by Buckeye Empire

Per his Twitter account, 2014 dual-threat quarterback DeShaun Watson from Gainesville, Georgia has reportedly been offered by Ohio State. He is currently verbally committed to Clemson University.

It’s important to keep in mind that Watson has not yet visited campus or participated in any Ohio State camps, therefore we can’t confirm that it’s an actual ‘commitable’ offer from Urban Meyer and staff.

Watson is listed by Scout as a 6′ 2 1/2″ 176-pound quarterback with a 40-time listed at 4.65 seconds.

Ohio State currently has Braxton Miller, Kenny Guiton and Cardale Jones on their depth chart at the QB position, and a verbal commitment from 2013 dual-threat quarterback J.T. Barrett who will be added to the mix next season.

The initial report from Watson himself continues to show Urban Meyer’s obvious interest in quick, athletic and versatile QB’s in his power-spread offense.
