Week 3 saw some sure things disappear into that good night, while one man made some fringe picks that paid off handsomely. We’re back to bring you the Buckeye Empire College Football Pick ‘Em Challenge, in which the four editors of Buckeye Empire share their picks each week in the ESPN CFB Pick ‘Em Challenge.
So far, Grant Edgell has been able to maintain a slim lead over Ryan Lephart, but a new contender emerges bolstered by a very productive weekend. Joe Dexter went 7-3 on the week, only missing out on BYU, USC, and Sparty, what many considered the three locks of the weekend other than Alabama. Joe was the clear winner of Saturday’s slate, as no one else managed better than a .500 record. Chris Holloway dropped into a losing record with a poor performance on Saturday, going just 4-6.
The leaderboard sees a little shuffling this week due to Joe’s meteoric rise and Chris’ drastic fall, but all are within 5 games of each other with quite a few more weeks left in the season. Week 4 sees consensus in all but 4 games in the 11 games lineup and were it not for Chris’ unwavering belief that Miami (FL) has to win one eventually, it would be all but 3.
The standings after week 3 are:
Grant Edgell (19-12)
Joe Dexter (17-14)
Ryan Lephart (17-14)
Chris Holloway (15-16)
Week 4 Picks: (Ohio State was not included in ESPN’s lineup, therefore there are 11 games this week
