After receiving a commitment from forward Keita Bates-Diop over the weekend, Thad Matta and staff strike again. This time the Buckeyes land a Central,Ohio native in 2014 Pickerington Central Wing Jae’Sean Tate.
The 6’5 205lb lefty is rated the top player in the state of Ohio for the class of 2014 and picked Ohio State over such schools as Michigan, Iowa & Xavier Some Buckeye fans might remember Tate’s father, Jermaine who played two seasons in the S&G before transferring to play for Bobby Huggins at Cincinnati.
Reggie Rankin of ESPN had the following to say on his twitter page about the four star Tate ” Jae’Sean Tate is tough, competes, makes plays, finishes, defends, does all the dirty work to help his team win, Warrior!”. Rankin also thinks Jae’Sean and Keita Bates-Diop will work out great for the Buckeyes “Tate and Bates-Diop nice compliment to each other. Forwards that bring different assets to the court. Combine length, toughness, skill and D”.
