CNN Anchor Asks if Meteorite/Asteroid is Due to Global Warming

On February 19, 2013 by Ryan

CNN anchor [insert meaningless name here] asked Bill Nye, that’s right The Science Guy, if the asteroid that recently passed us by was due to global warming.  That’s right, a gigantic rock floating around space, in her mind, could have something to do with rising CO2 levels and us burning through fossil fuels faster than Brady Hoke clears a plate at Old Country Buffet.  I’m not trying to make this any political statement, or any stance on global warming or any of that crap.  What I’m saying is, news people, all of them really, have no clue what is coming out of their mouths half (maybe more) of the time.

Good god. Aside from the meteor-meteorology snafu, there had to have been several other people involved (writers? editors? etc.?) where this got past the common sense filters.

Totally crazy. Rush joked about the left blaming global warming for the Meteor. Stop and think. Extra carbon in the atmosphere in no way is going to cause an asteroid from millions of miles away to behave differently. Stupid on her part to even mention it.
