Ohio State Player Profile: John Holman

On June 13, 2013 by Chris Holloway

holmanThere isn’t much that can be said about Junior Walk-On Defensive Tackle John Holman. Not to say that he isn’t a productive football player, just that we’ve rarely seen him on the field. The defensive line depth is so robust that Holman could conceivably not see any playing time this season. While that would be a shame for the 6’2”, 264 pound tackle out of Georgia, it is not uncommon in walk-on situations.

Holman is a JUCO transfer from Mississippi Delta Community College and walked on to the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2012. He made the switch from offensive line to defensive line after high school, but as a walk-on, hasn’t seen the field at Ohio Stadium. With such a wealth of depth at his position, including highly touted recruits, it is unlikely that he will do so unless the line suffers some major injuries.

While we can’t provide you with any stats for Holman, what we can do is show you just what the young man is made of and what he brought to the table for his high school team in McDonough, GA (Union Grove HS)
