Raekwon McMillan, considered the top linebacker prospect in the country, has committed to play football for Urban Meyer’s Buckeyes. The 6’2″, 242 pound member of the 2014 recruiting class immediately upgrades the talent at the linebacker position for Ohio State. In a time where fans are wondering if All Everything Ryan Shazier will stay in Columbus or bolt for the NFL, the McMillan news brings a measure of comfort to those that watched as the Buckeye linebacker corps took hit after hit this past season on the way to a 12-1 record.
Meyer was the last coach to have an in-home visit with the prospect from Hinesville, GA (Liberty County HS) and it seemed to have paid off. McMillan will come into practice ready to compete for a starting spot, especially if Shazier is off to the Bengals. The 5 star (Rivals) athlete will look to make an instant impact on a much maligned group of linebackers and should provide the same boost to that group as Dontre Wilson did for the running backs.
