There has been a lot of reporting on the University of Michigan’s inability to sell tickets to their home opener against Appalachian State. Surprisingly, students and fans don’t want to head to The Big House for a rematch against the team that gave them not only the most embarrassing loss in the history of their program but also the most embarrassing loss in the history of college football.
In an effort to increase tickets sales the geniuses from the Michigan Athletic Department, wanting to prove they are truly the Harvard of the Midwest, began running promos through Living Social, an online market place. For those of you who don’t know what Living Social is they are basically Groupon’s slower, less attractive brother.
After this effort failed to result in all the tickets being sold the brass at the largest community college in the world hit the drawing board. Trashy people love Michigan football. That is a proven fact. But, what do they love more than Michigan football? That’s right, Walmart. As much as we make fun of Michigan they have really hit the nail on the head with their new promotion.
