Obviously I don’t think anything is going to come from this, or that the kid would actually accept it, I just really find it funny. Drake Harris, a 2014 4 Star (Rivals) recruit, sent out a tweet asking about tattoo artists in the Grand Rapids area. Obviously some idiot had to respond with a guy who would do it for free for a simple picture and an autograph. Drake smartly did not respond, for obvious reasons. Yes it’s more fun to read this because it’s a Michigan fan, but this stuff happens all over the place, and fans need to realize that having the kind of access that Twitter provides can be somewhat dangerous. This can be seen in many circumstances, and needs to be monitored. Fans have no business tweeting recruits or current players anything that could damage the young person in any way. This not only includes offers like this one, but also degrading comments for choosing another school. This is something we Buckeye fans are quite familiar with, and these kind of actions, even with the best intentions, need to stop.
It’s one idiot, but there are plenty more where that came from. Just showing how prevalent this kind of activity is, and how easily this stuff is offered, anywhere.
Let’s keep it classy Twitter users. It’s too much “Tweet first, review second”
The tweet has since been removed.
