What the Wisconsin Game Means to Recruits

On September 26, 2013 by Buckeye Empire

Why are games like the Wisconsin game so important to recruits? Why do recruits from all the over the country make the trip to Columbus for games like this? There are many reasons as to why top flight prospects come to the capital of the Buckeye State for these primetime, night games. The recruits get to see a game day atmosphere that many schools can’t come close to matching and it is very appealing to recruits.

Recruits love to see the atmosphere during night games and how the fan base and students support their football team. As we all know not many schools can top The Shoe on a Saturday let alone a Saturday night. This game will be a great foundation for kids that have never been to Columbus. Some of these kids may not have Ohio State not as their leader or one of their leaders, but an atmosphere like The Shoe will have Saturday can change that real quick.

Games like this can change a whole recruit’s recruiting process. With an impressive performance on and off the field from the Buckeyes can do exactly that.  This type of atmosphere that will be in the stadium Saturday will be second to none. These recruits will see Buckeye Nation out in full force and will most likely be blown away from the scarlet out in The Shoe. After this weekend we will know where the Buckeyes stand with a lot of their top uncommitted prospects in attendance.

As for what 2014 kids are coming this weekend you can look as far west as California, where 5 star athlete JuJu Smith is making his flight flight to Columbus. As far south as Florida where wide reciever Johnnie Dixon, wide

receiver Travis Rudolph, and  safety Shawn Boone. Go as far east as New Jersey where tight end Mike Gesicki will make his trip to Columbus. Yes, don’t worry top in -state kids will be in attendance such as,  Cleveland five star athlete Marshon Lattimore, and Cleveland safety Erick Smith. Not to mention plenty of current commits.

This is a huge weekend for not just the present, but for the future for the Ohio State football program. This can be a game changer in some of these recruit’s recruitments and we expect THE Ohio State to put on a show, from it’s students to its’ alumni to its’ fans. The Shoe will be rocking Saturday and we expect all of you to make the stadium electric for these possible future Buckeyes.
